Altered Tekkies Class - 26 January

This class is a winner!
It is unbelievable how different the tekkies (sneakers) turn out.
Each person has their own vision and by using the colours in the
serviette (napkin) to guide you, you cannot make a mistake.

We started by misting the tekkies with water. Then we applied the
paint. Sometimes one colour, sometimes two.

Then you let the paint dry. In the meantime you cut out the
pictures from the serviettes. Remove the back layers and
adhere the pictures to the tekkies by using the gel medium.

Allow the gel medium to completely dry before you do your acrylic
paint stamping and your Archival ink stamping.

Remember to dye your shoe laces with the paint as well.

The two tekkies don't have to look exactly the same, but there must be
balance when you place them next to one another.

Even pink on pink worked, although you think it might not!

We added some bling to give it a bit of sparkle.

Thanks girls this was a lovely class.
Hope you have already created a few pairs at home!

Secret Admirer...... Cards

Here are the cards we made during Saturday's class at Sweet Scrappins.
The paper is from the Secret Admirer range from Kaiser Craft.
It was so good to see the familiar faces and to meet new friendly people.
Thanks for all your help Carla and Miems.

Live Fully
A small doily was sprayed with glimmer mist
and folded over the edge of  the paper.

Cherish
The green element was cut out, using a Spellbinders die.

Love Completely
The pink background paper was relaxed with water mist and
then embossed using a Tim Holtz embossing die.
Distress the edges of the smaller papers.

Friends
The pink edge was punched with an EK Success punch.

Dream and Hope
I used my Martha Stewart punch to create the borders on both cards.

Enjoy the journey
The pink paper was relaxed with water mist and
then embossed with a Cuttle Bug embossing die.
Remember to sand the paper for the distressed look.

Laugh Heartily
Remember to tie the ribbon before you glue down the green paper.
By now you know all the tricks!
Keep well and enjoy the week.

Do things that makes you happy

The year is a few days old and slowly everything is getting back into rhythm.
The paper recycling every two weeks, the garden guy once a week,
doing the laundry, going for a haircut.....

But there is one thing that I would like you all to take to heart,
take care of yourself.

During the holiday I had time (and my friends had time ) to catch up on
what happened since we last saw each other.
For most of us it seemed that 2012 was difficult,
not just difficult, but very difficult.
But we all survived!

So do things this year that will make you happy,
things that will help you cope.
Create something!
Read something! Bake something!
Smoke something!
Help someone!
Walk with someone!
Listen to someone!

I hope all of you will have a creative and fulfilling 2013!
Love x
